Ok i haven't read all of the posts here cause most of them are a short novel in themselves, i will just reply o the original post concerning newbies not having a chance.
I totally disagree, newbs do have a great deal of a chance to make it big quite quickly if you team up, this game is based on a team atmosphere, CCP pushes groups, corporations and alliances, hence the giving the alliances and corps more capability as a whole.
I personally have about 4 guys in my corp that are less than 1 month ingame, they are all living in 0.0 with the rest of the corp and they each have quite a bit of money, sure they can't mine or NPC solo but they make isk other ways, we hold mining ops often, or quite often one ofour more experienced players will simply sit there an tank for them while they mine in ospreys, when we NPC we get them to come along in frigs, they warp in at 100k after we have engaged the spawn and they get their fair share of the bounties as the gang system gives equally and once we have killed the NPC's they get all the loot for us since the BS's are often to slow, one of my members made 16mil in a few hours the other day mining rares with us, we are picky about who we take in, but it doesn't mean we don't take in new members, and those same guys lost countless frigates (which the corp supplied with all gear for free) fighting in the war we just got out of a few weeks ago, but they still did their part, didn't lose much isk since we paid for most things (newbs have cheap clones which is good), but they still helped to lock down many ships by tackling them for the BS's/HAC's to kill, but more importantly they learned how to fight, and learned how to survive a little better from it.
If your trying to do all this solo good luck to you, find a corporation and let them teach you, most corps are happy to take in newbs and teach them the game.
Also most of the T1 ships are getting an overhaul in the next patch or so, so expect for your frigs and cruisers etc to be better than they are now... ----------------------------------------------- "Acta non Verba" Pretty animation, but unfortunately 24 000 bytes is the filesize limit. -Omniscience Forums: http://www.beckcomputerservices.co.uk/glf/ |
